"No Shirt, No Shoes, No Service" a classic business missive that basically asks you to please have some self respect and not scare the children. When I was a kid and first saw a sign in a business window stating this I thought to myself that was a bit silly and unecessary. "C'mon" I thought, "You really have to tell people that?" Then I worked in retail.

The only place this doesn't apply is to the 4 legged if it is a pet friendly business. I thought about this yesterday as I Shoes and Bella shopped at Petsmart, saying hello to numerous dogs along the way. Then I thought that today might be a good day for a furry reminder, a Sunday Rewind, you could say, of some recent Pets of the Week with the Ulster County SPCA. Plus they are pretty full at the shelter right now and would love to find homes for as many of their adoptables as possible. This in turn would allow them to bring in and care for other animals that are out there in need of their help.

Early in February there was Fargo and friends.

Just in time for Valentines day came Zeke and the gang. Congrats to Willy from this group for finding a home!

Next up it was Gepetto and a couple more. I also saw that Bonsai from this week's pets has been adopted!

Bringing you the Pets of the Week with not only the Ulster County SPCA but with the Dutchess County SPCA as well is one of my favorite aspects of being at Mix 97-7. The ability to get some attention to all these animals through our website and Social Media, and even get some of them adopted because of it, is beyond satisfying and heartwarming.

If you would like to see some more pictures and get updates on the shelter you can find them at the Facebook page or you can call them at 845-331-5377. Donations of money and/or supplies are always welcome and appreciated at the shelter to help keep up with the medical expenses and the housing of all the animals that are just waiting for you to come in and fall in love.
