The annual Greek Festival is back again this weekend in Poughkeepsie. Hosted by the Kimisis Greek Orthodox Church, it’s the 38th year for the festival. 

Held in the parking lot of the Hellenic Community Center on Park Avenue in Poughkeepsie, the four-day festival is known for its food.

Tons of traditional Greek food and desserts. You’ll find the traditional items like gyros, baklavas and even lamb.  The festival’s opening day was Thursday. Both Thursday and Friday, you’ll have people go on their lunch break, to grab some food. 

The Greek Festival will continue until Sunday evening. Friday and Saturday the festival runs from 11am to 10pm. On Sunday, things get started at Noon and go until 6pm. Admission to the Greek Festival is free. 

The church expects to see around 10,000 people by the time the festival wraps up Sunday evening. Money raised from the event will go towards programs at the Kimisis Greek Orthodox Church.
