Boil Water Order for Residents for an Ulster County Town
A boil water notice has gone out to residents in the Town of Lloyd, mainly for the Hamlet of Highland. Any residents who are attached to the town water system should be aware of the issue.
The problem is because of a water main break on Church Street. The break happened near town hall.
According to a message from the town via their phone alert system, says the water department is working on fixing the broken pipe.
The town says residents are asked to boil water used for drinking or preparing food. If it’s easier, use bottled water. They stress the water is OK for showering and doing laundry. The boil water advisory will stay in effect until further notice.
No estimated time was given for the repair of the water main break. Church Street is closed, while the repairs take place. Drivers that normally, take Church coming down the hill from the middle school will meet a road closed sign and will be forced down into the hamlet.
