If you haven’t been outside yet on this Friday, it’s very cold. Besides temperatures only being in the low 30s the winds have been blowing pretty hard.

An arctic air mass has pushed into the region says the National Weather Service, which means colder temperatures all weekend, but really cold temperatures tonight.

A wind advisory is effect for the Hudson Valley until 6pm, but there is talk of cancelling that earlier, as the winds begin to subside. High pressure will settle in, stabilizing our weather, but making it very cold tonight.

Overnight temperatures above 1500 feet (those are the hill towns and mountain area_ will drop down to single digits. Most of the rest of the area will see temperatures in the teens. Overnight temperatures around 14 or 16 is expected in most areas in the Hudson Valley.  Factor in what is left from the wind, and it will feel even colder.

For the daylight hours on the weekends, temperatures will hit the mid to upper 40s, but night time temps will stay in the upper teens, 18 for Saturday night.
