Our annual Jam the Van Food Drive starts Thursday morning at Shop Rite locations in the Hudson Valley. If you want to be creative, start your own "canstruction" project and then bring the food to our drive.

Canstruction is a creative way that people around the country collect food for their local food banks and pantries. You get hundreds or thousands of canned goods and then you build something really cool. These structures in the video are on display at  Brookfield Place in New York City and the food then goes to City Harvest.

We will gratefully collect your donations of canned goods and other non perishable food items at the Shop Rite stores in: Poughkeepsie, Fishkill, Lagrangeville, New Paltz and Kingston. The food drive is going All Day-Everyday from Thursday the 16th till Sunday the 19th at all the locations. I will be broadcasting live all day long from the Shop Rite in Poughkeepsie.

This is the 20th consecutive year that I have been part of a food drive for the Food Bank of the Hudson Valley. It's not my food drive, it's yours. So many of you have come out year after year to donate food and money to help our neighbors right here in the Mid Hudson Valley. The need is still great, so please put us on your schedule and stop by with your donation.

If you want to make it fun, start your own "canstruction" project at work or with your civic group and post it on social media. Send us your pictures and we will put them up on our Facebook page. The more people see what you are doing, the more they will want to get involved. That's what this is all about. Your involvement in our community, giving people a hand up and showing them that you care.  I look forward to seeing you at Jam the Van. Thank You.
