I got an automated call on my cell yesterday.  When I answered the voice said "We regret to inform you that your debit card has been deactivated.  To restore service, press 1 now."  I pressed the number one and the voice said, "please enter your 16 digit card number now."  That is when I hung up and called my bank.  I knew I had plenty of money in my account, so why would my card be deactivated?  The bank informed me that someone was fishing for my info to steal from me.  There are lots of scams out there.  Especially this time of year!

Don't give out your card info over the phone unless you are doing it with your bank.  These calls sound legit, but think twice before you give up that card number.
