Holiday Lights in Fishkill to Help Children With Cancer
The Fortis family in Fishkill invites you to come enjoy the holiday lights as they try to raise money for children with cancer.
Dawn Fortis and her family have gone all out to put you in the holiday mood with an impressive and festive display of lights. Their home at 47 Fairfax Road in Fishkill features holiday music, and they come to every car to give out candy canes.
Dawn in a cancer survivor and, according to the Poughkeepsie Journal, the Fortis family holds a number of fundraising activities throughout the year. They hope that when you drive by, you'll put a few dollars in the box out front. It will all be given to the Hope & Heroes Pediatric Oncology unit at New York Presbyterian Hospital.
Last year, the family raised $1,200, Fortis said, "with only five days left until Christmas. We hope to raise $3,000 this year; 100 percent of all proceeds will be donated."
The Fortis family will leave the lights on until 10 pm each night, and the display will be up until January 6th. Make sure you put 47 Fairfax Road in Fishkill on your holiday light tour and make a donation for the kids.
