Hydrant Testing Continues This Week in the City of Poughkeepsie
This week, May 15 to May 18, the City of Poughkeepsie will be testing Hydrants throughout the city. This will affect all residents within the city that use the city’s water. The hydrant system is directly linked to the drinking water supply.
All week, the City of Poughkeepsie Fire Department will be serving and testing the entire fire hydrant system within the city. They will be doing this in certain areas, each day. The full list is below.
While the system is being tested, the water may be discolored. Let your water run, until it’s clear. The water is safe. Also, be aware when washing clothes, especially whites, its suggested you wait 24 to 48 hours before doing whites.
The following areas are being tested on Thursday:
Cannon Street Between South Cherry Street and South Hamilton Street
South Clinton Street Between Main Street and Montgomery Street
Montgomery Street Between South Clinton Street and Hooker Avenue
Church Street Between South Hamilton Street and South White Street
Then on Friday, these areas will be tested:
Fox Hill Condos-specifically Crystal Hill Lane
100 Forbus Street
36 Oakwood Boulevard
