Katy Perry performed at the NRJ Music Awards in France, (Dec. 14), but the singer's live version wasn't that. At first. She was lip-syncing and it was out of time, Milli Vanilli style. She was stopped by a dude in a suit who said they had a problem with the song. They hit the reset button and then it was … live.

What was that about? That couldn't have been planned ... or was it? We don't know.

While Perry is not the best live singer or performer, especially with her vocals, this was a bit strange. It appears as though she may have gotten caught not singing live and then flipped the switch to live singing,

It has to be embarrassing for her since it's such a suspicious performance to go from not live to live.

Update: NRJ released a statement on Dec. 17 stating that the "wrong mix" was played during her live performance of 'Roar.' They added: "TF1 & NRJ would like to apologize to NRJ double award winner Katy Perry for this technical problem beyond our control."

However, Perry did look amazeballs on the red carpet, in a short in front, slightly longer in back, asymmetrically hemmed dress by Osman. It was cream in color, with gold embellishments. She was 24-karat.

She's got some stems, right? Golden shoes, glowy gams.
