Full disclosure I'm not one to get overly excited about an animated kid's musical. However, it's hard not to have your heart skip-a-beat after seeing the film, Leap! This tale of dreams wonderment and flight is infectious with the joy.

Leap! or Ballerina for oversea audiences was released in 2016 in France and the UK, but now it hits American movie theaters this weekend. This international film stars the famous voices of Elle Fanning, Nat Wolff, Dance Mom's star Maddie Ziegler and Carly Rae Jepsen along with Mel Brooks. The film tells the story of an orphan who leaves home in the hope of becoming a ballerina at the Paris Opera Ballet School. While on her journey, she exceeds everyone’s expectations including her own.

Leap! is not only well told, but it's funny and packs a powerful message. Though it might seem like it's a story only for girls, the message of the film is universal and one that kids should learn. The dialogue is clever and plot is well told and let’s not forget the film is visually stunning. This one is sure to be a hit with kids and parents alike.
