A video presentation is being held to help in active shooter situations and how to prepare for them.  The presentation is being offered by The Medical Reserve Corps of Dutchess County and presented by the Dutchess County Deputy Sheriff Arthur Hart.

The video is called “You Are the Help Until Help Arrives,” according to an article in the Daily Freeman, the presentation offers simple, immediate actions that can save a life before first responders arrive.  The programs will focus on how an average person should respond if an active shooter is in the area and how to protect themselves.

The training sessions are free and open to the public and will be on Thursday December 14.  The presentations are at 3pm and 7pm at the Poughkeepsie Library District’s Boardman Road Branch.  Seating will be limited and reservations are required.  Anyone looking to make reservation, contact Joe Ryan via Email jryan@dutchessny.gov or call 845-486-2493.
