Numbers Arrive in Times Square, Pay to See Ball Drop
It’s almost time to say goodbye to 2017 and usher in a new year. As we get ready to welcome in 2018, the numbers arrived today in Times Square. Tim Tompkins, the President of the Times Square Alliance told the Associated Press, this is an annual tradition that people look forward too.
The numbers are a giant number one and number eight. The numbers are seven feet tall, and arrived on a flatbed truck. Then unloaded with cranes on the sidewalk, where their lights are tested. Then the numbers will be put atop of Times Square. There are over 200 lights, that will be lit to ring in 2018.
Of course, tons of people will be filling Times Square to bring in 2018. Once again, Ryan Seacrest will be hosting Dick Clark’s Rockin New Eve live from Times Square with live performances by recording artists. People can join the party, with a VIP package. The lowest price package is $500 per person.
