The annual Spring Fest celebration returns to downtown Highland this Saturday. The weather looks perfect for a day of local festivities in the downtown. A fun filled day with over 60 local craft and food vendors, games, and live music. There will be a local art exhibit, which includes art from students in the Highland School District. This year, some cool things have been added.

New this year, the beer garden, plus a car show in town field. Just added the petting zoo from the Goodnow family farm. Jacob’s music will once again have the music appreciation tent, where kids can try musically instruments. Also, this year a 54-inch inflatable obstacle course, a street long game of musical chairs, bouncy castles. Local organizations like sports teams and scouts will be on hand with games and prizes.

The day will start off with the second annual 5K Walk and Run with Semper Fi Parents of the Hudson Valley. That begins at 10am and starts at the Rotary Pavilion on the Highland Rail trail.

Another big event during Spring Fest will be the Shopping Cart Relay to benefit the local food pantries. Easy to enter the race with a box of nonperishable food items or $30. Teams consist of three people, ages 14 years or old.
