Found the results of a new survey that came up with a list of the top 10 status symbols of today along with a top 10 list of those that were considered must haves in the 80s. Having gone to college and lived through the 80s I can certainly relate to the status symbols of the time and the 'cool' I didn't achieve but find it comforting to know now that it only took me the better part of 2 and half decades to finally improve my status to half of the 80s status standards.

So with this math in hand now I should be able to achieve at 5 out of 10 of the 'Today's Status Symbols' by the time I'm 75 when the only things on the list I may be able to enjoy are leering at the neighbor's nanny ('cause if I have a nanny her name will be 'nurse') and opening and shutting the electric gates to mess with people walking their dogs.
