The owner of Schatzi's Pub in Poughkeepsie is opening a taco and tequila bar and it will be next door to his German food inspired bar on Main Street.

Jeremy Phillips is the owner of Schatzi's and the new place will be called Milo's Cantina. This sounds like a great idea and it can only help to draw more people to dine in Poughkeepsie.  Schatzi's has a really great outdoor patio/bier garden in Poughkeepsie and another establishment in New Paltz.

The Poughkeepsie Journal reports that Milo's will 119 different types of tequila. I didn't even know there were that many in the world. It will also make a taco that is inspired by the extremely popular Schatzi burger.

"We're going to deconstruct it and turn it into a taco," Phillips said. "So we'll be taking potatoes, brisket and our special Schatzi's sauce and making something with those core ingredients.

The new taco/tequila bar, Milo's Cantina is scheduled to open next month at 206 Main Street in Poughkeepsie.  Can't wait to try it out!
