Train Show Comes to Hudson Valley This Weekend
This weekend, the annual train show chugs into the Mid-Hudson Civic Center. The 46th annual railroad and hobby exposition will be Sunday, from 10am to 3pm, at the Mid-Hudson Civic Center in Poughkeepsie. According to an article in the Poughkeepsie Journal, this is a joint venture of the Hudson Valley Railroad Society and civic center. The show benefits the Hyde Park historic railroad station. The train station is 103 years old and is now used a local history museum. The train station was designed in 1914, the proceeds from the show will go towards continuing restoration and operation of the museum.
At the show, there will be vendors featuring all scales of new and used model trains, slot cars, historic miniatures and other hobby items. These are available for purchase. Also, there will be scale mode train layouts and slot cars that will be operating and on display. Plus, there will be interactive activities with layouts and slot car tracks, especially for kids.
