As we gear up for election day on November 7, it’s time for the primaries in New York State.  Primary Day is Tuesday, September 12.  Besides judges and local municipalities elections this year, there are three statewide ballot measures on the ballot this year.

Proposal one, calls for a constitutional convention to explore proposals for changes to the state constitution.  Proposal two, would allow judges to reduce or revoke the state pension of a public officer convicted of a felony related to his or her duties.  The third proposal would create a 250-acre land bank.  This would allow local governments to request forest preserve land for projects in exchange for the state acquiring 250 acres for the forest preserves.

Polling places will be open from noon to 9pm on primary day.  Polls in Nassau, Suffolk, Westchester, Putnam, Orange and Eric counties will be opening early at 6am on primary day.
