This past week, several library districts in Ulster County had budget votes.  According to several reports in the Daily Freeman. First, in the Town of Ulster where the library’s budget of $326,700 for next year was approved.  That’s a 4.1 percent larger than the 2017 budget.  Also, Incumbent library board members Cynthia Wadnola and Allison Organtini were re-elected for another three-year term.

Residents in West Hurley also approved the 2018 budget of $219, 504.  That’s 2.8 percent larger than 2017 and increases the property tax levy by 2.9 percent.

There was also a budget vote for the Rosendale Library.  Their 2018 budget for $313,500 was approved by residents 130 to 38.  That budget is only 0.9 percent larger than last approved budget.  All four incumbent candidates were re-elected to another four-year term.

Finally, residents in the Saugerties Library District, also said yes to the 2018 budget for $659,000.  This budget has a big increase from the previous year, with an 8.1 percent increase.  The tax levy will only be raised by 3.3 percent.
