Update: Oil Spill In Hudson River
There was an oil spill on the Hudson River on Sunday that now looks like it only impacts one Hudson Valley shoreline. The Poughkeepsie Journal quoted a press release from the state police stating the spill will only affect 100 yards of the Germantown NY shoreline. Teams responded Sunday afternoon after there was a reported spill from the Germantown boat launch. The DEC assessed the spill using a helicopter and determined the affected area to be approximately 300 feet of shoreline.
On Sunday night the Dutchess County Office of Emergency Management released the following statement on Twitter:
Oil spill in Hudson River is an isolated incident in Columbia County. Investigation reveals no concern for Dutchess County residents.
