"Uptown Funk" is one of the most successful songs in the history of recorded music and one of it's main creators spent some of his college time in Poughkeepsie.

"Uptown funk you up, uptown funk you up."  Is this song about Poughkeepsie? We have an uptown and I can personally attest that is does at times get kinda funky. There have been many questions about who should get credit for the hit song, but the two guys who get mentioned when it's played on the radio are Marc Ronson and Bruno Mars.

Well come to find out that Marc Ronson went to Vassar College. He didn't graduate, but did attend for awhile in the 90's. Ronson is one of the biggest names in the music business.  He has worked with: Adele, Amy Winehouse, Lana Del Ray and he produced Lady GaGa's last album. This guy is known by everyone in the recording business.

I accidentally found out that Ronson went to school in Poughkeepsie when I stumbled upon a list of famous Vassar College Alumni. We all know that Meryl Streep and Lisa Kudrow went to Vassar, so I scrolled down the list. Number 52 was Ronson. Wonder if he spent much time in the clubs around here?

Another feather in the cap of Poughkeepsie, so jump on it!  Like they say in the song " If you freaky then own it." We will - thank you.
